COMMITMENT TO VETERAN JOBS CREATION
At this fragile time that’s testing America’s economic dominance and world military leadership, recognition of the dedicated service of our military personnel and the more than 2 million Iraq and Afghanistan veterans is falling by the wayside.
Every one of these factors weigh against veterans enjoying a safe and secure home environment and career. It’s every one of these factors that VBI is committed to reverse – on a very large national scale.
We are pursuing solutions to veteran unemployment with what will become America’s largest ever private sector veteran and service disabled veteran owned small business development and jobs creation.
Veterans Business Institute has the best military and business minds in the world developing ground-breaking veteran business and jobs programs.
Our programs are reaching into the Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Labor, and the Small Business Administration – with the challenging objective actually succeeding in getting multiple federal and state agencies to come together in support of an effective, national veterans jobs creation program that actually works.
The problem is Americas – the urgency in deploying a solution is ours.

A NEW VETERANS SMALL BUSINESS GI BILL
VBI is advocating for a new GI Bill to accelerate the creation of veteran
owned and disabled veteran owned small business.
THE VETERANS BUSINESS OWNERSHIP ACT OF 2011
“VET BIZ GI BILL”
President Roosevelt signed into law the original GI Bill in 1944. The urgency in creating the GI Bill was not because the President was concerned about the veterans as much as he was concerned about the nation’s economic collapse if millions of WWII veterans returned home to massive unemployment. Back then, the GI Bill worked.
Today, the nation IS experiencing an economic calamity – and our veterans are taking the brunt of the nations’ unemployment problems.
Since 2001, the number of veteran self-employed small businesses have declined nearly 25%. During that same period, every other small business category increased.
Recent reports from the Department of Veterans Affairs showed that 40% of our veterans will never use their GI Bill to earn a college degree, and nearly 40% of our veterans dream of becoming small business owners.
However, our current GI Bills EXCLUSE the ability of our veterans to use their hard-earned benefits to directly fund the start up of a new veteran-owned business.
At the same time, the Small Business Administration records show that nearly 90 percent of America’s businesses are Small Businesses, and that they create 65 percent of all new jobs – NOT big corporations.
Where’s the disconnect? Unemployed veterans who are America’s most disciplined, success focused, battle-tested workers can create businesses and jobs – if only they could use their GI Bill benefits to help offset business start up costs.
Yes - it’s going to take an “Act of Congress”. That's why VBI is taking the lead on promoting the development of this urgently needed legislation – the Vet-Biz GI Bill of 2011.
